Cafco BONDSEAL® is a single pack, styrene acrylic copolymer, used as an adhesive/sealer coat.

Cafco BONDSEAL® is mixed with water and applied to porous or non-compatible surfaces to either seal or create a barrier prior to the application of CAFCO® 300 and Promat sprayed mineral wool products.

A wide range of surfaces in both the construction, hydrocarbon and tunnel industries will benefit from the use of Cafco BONDSEAL®.

Properties and performance
Theoretical coverage

When used as an adhesive on steel, 3 parts Cafco BONDSEAL® to 1 part water, 7-11m2/litre as mixed

When used as an adhesive on concrete, 1 part Cafco BONDSEAL® to 1 part water, 13m2/litre as mixed

When used as a sealer on Promat sprayed mineral wool coating, 1 part Cafco BONDSEAL® to 1 parts water. 10m2/litre as mixed

Practical coverage is dependent on surface condition, profile, application method and technique

Number of coats Normally one but additional coats may be applied as required
Cure By air drying
Drying time 2 to 6 hours. The drying time will vary with ambient conditions and substrate, but high humidity, low temperature and low air change will hinder cure significantly
Combustibility Non-combustible
pH value 9.6

Typical substrates Primed steel and concrete. Please contact Promat for other compatible priming systems
Substrate preparation The substrate shall be clean, dry and free from visible moisture (including condensation), dust, loose millscale, loose rust, loose paint and mould, oil and any other condition preventing good adhesion
